As an individual who wants to contribute to the society, to make a difference, to be the change; you can help us. We welcome any contribution, big or small, from individual donors. We like to engage with a range of individuals from all walks of life; students, government employees, corporate employees, freelancers and retired persons in the form of internship and volunteer programs.
You as an individual can contribute by donating a small amount regularly through payroll giving to stay associated with us over a long term. One-off small amounts too matter to us. As a small foundation these contributions mean much to us since we ensure that your support actually reaches the grassroots level groups.
Anybody, students, professionals, Indians, foreigners, can volunteer or intern at our organisation or with organisations we support. By learning, teaching and interacting with experts and community members on field, you will get a peek into the lives of people quite different from you. We make an effort to structure a customised volunteering and interning schedule to make most of unique, ideas and qualities, which helps both our collectives, and you.
You may know a friend, a group, a corporate body or an organisation that you couldĀ link us to. Enlarging the circle of supporters and friends is important to our work to engage more people into discussing the issues we are working with. Especially, as there are so few open conversations around issues of sexuality.
You can also provide us with resources such as your time, expertise, office equipment, food, old newspapers and basic medicines as the community is always in need of various resources. You can also link us to others, your family, friends, colleagues etc. who can provide resources or can engage with us.
Interning with Solidarity Foundation was a riveting experience; more than learning, I unlearnt a lot of things I had come with, a lot of assumptions were challenged and a lot of myths broken. My work on transgender identities in India kickstarted with Solidarity Foundation, and I would not ask for a better base to start with. From myriad experiences to an informal but an educative environment, people at Solidarity Foundation will always remain a huge influence in my journey in academia and human rights.
